Re: TSA cut my rods in half at the airport
I've taken rods in a tube to Florida with no problems several times. Seems pretty extreme to cut rods in half. I'd demand something be done.

Re: What is your thought on Hobies?
I had an older style outback. I hated the seat but I'm sure the new ones have better seats. I also didn't enjoy peddling. It was annoying having my knees up in my gut constantly. And my buddy would leave me like I was standing still on his tarpon 16. So I ended up selling it and I have had a trident...

Re: TKF STICKERS, ANYONE?
Is there such a thing as a UV resistant sticker? My tkf sticker has turned white on my tuck window. I guess it lasted a few years but I was just wondering if there was such a thing as a sticker that does not fade.

Re: The Brazos never disappoints....round 2
One funny thing was they have these two buoys a little under a mile down from the dam. They say something like hazard on them and there are some large diameter pipes that run in the area. I figured it was so that boats dont run over the pipes. Well I was fishing the pipes and all of the sudden I hea...

Re: The Brazos never disappoints....round 2
So at around 10am we started to head back up river. We were supposed to be off the river by 1pm because we had stuff to do this evening. On the way back up I decided to really start fishing. Someone turned on the magic "make the fish jump on your hook" switch and it was on. I caught severa...

The coon creek area is a pretty neat place with a really nice cliff the runs along the left side of the river. We got out and explored the rocks a bit. http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e44/daveg99/brazos%20Nov%202014/20141108_095159_zpsrbhnvyxr.jpg http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e44/daveg99/braz...

The Brazos never disappoints....round 2
Since last weeks trip was so successful I decided to give it another try today. Nothing is better fishing than the Brazos in North Texas IMO. Last week we put in at Dicks and paddled up stream a couple miles and back. Today we put in at the dam below Whitney and paddled down stream a little past Coo...

We fished a few different pools and found some fish in a couple of them. We got off our kayaks and did some wade fishing. http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e44/daveg99/brazos%20nov%201%202014/20141101_100524_zps5869bd27.jpg http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e44/daveg99/brazos%20nov%201%202014/201411...

The Brazos never disappoints
Myself and my buddy Bass Art hit the Brazos on Nov 1st. We launched at Dicks 8 miles below lake whitney and paddled a couple miles up river and then back down again. It was a really nice day and as usual the Brazos produces large bass. We left pretty early in the morning and got there when the sun w...

The Carlisle magic plus paddles work fine. I think they are $79 at academy. They are tough and get the job done. Paddle weight is over rated unless your racing, paddling across the ocean, or you're a girl.

I have the surf to summit seat and it's pretty comfortable. Probably not as good as those fancy lawn chair types but its good enough for me.
I'm 255 lbs and I don't get water coming up through the scuppers.

I have seen two on the water in the past couple weeks. It looks like a decent kayak. I personally don't like peddle kayaks but I can see how the reverse feature can be useful. $2300 seems steep for a 10ft boat

I wouldnt carry my own poop in a WAG bag. I would bring the bags just to be legal but I wouldnt use them. Thats just gross. All the animals get to poop on the ground so why cant humans?
I havent been down there in a few years. Its a nice stretch of river.

If a power boat were heading my way I would jump in and dive! Wearing a PFD could actually kill you in that situation. And I always buy mango/ yellow/ orange colored kayaks.
