Re: Galveston West Bay (North and South Shoreline)

Kyle, your fishing reports are fun to read and always teach me something about saltwater fishing. Too bad your only keeper this trip was that pretty slot Redfish! Keep your reports and tasty photos coming! Hope to see you on the water soon. And thanks for confirming that the W. Galveston Sportsman R...

Re: Sportsman Road Launch blocked!? What’s the deal

For your information, a resourceful TKF member found out who owns the two property tracts on each side of the Sportsman Rd. launch site. He is working with me to gather facts and evidence regarding this public ramp closure. I will be following up with each adjacent owner, then will try to make our c...

Re: Sportsman Road Launch blocked!? What’s the deal

Good suggestion, Ron! I'll discuss it with my co-counsel Shoffer. All facts & suggestions are welcomed. The more ammo we've got against the City of Galveston, the better. We do have two things in our favor: (1) About 20 years ago I beat the City of Galveston in a case I did for Mr. Galveston him...

Re: Sportsman Road Launch blocked!? What’s the deal

You are a non-lawyer practicing law and thereby breaking the law.

You should pipe down and go away before you ruin our chances of negotiating with the city.

Any more legal advice you want to give this board?

Re: Sportsman Road Launch blocked!? What’s the deal

You are trying to help, Impulse, but you know just enough law to be totally unhelpful. Quit trying to be an attorney and putting words in my mouth. We lawyers want to know the identity of the complainer before we take our case to the City of Galveston. That's in case the city takes the position that...

Re: Sportsman Road Launch blocked!? What’s the deal

Impulse, reread my post. I never recommended "doxing" the complaining homeowner. I requested help in discovering his identity because that's the first step in legal action with or against the City of Galveston. Unfortunately I fear the city's shutdown action will stand until we can approac...

Re: Sportsman Road Launch blocked!? What’s the deal

Thanks to Yak Boi (Kyle) for finding out why our public launch was summarily shut down. So it seems a Sportsman Rd. resident lied about those "gasoline thefts" and persuaded the City of Galveston to shut down that launch. As a lawyer I would say that disgruntled homeowner has committed fra...

Re: Sportsman Road Launch blocked!? What’s the deal

I agree with Impulse, Kyle. Loss of that launch would be catastrophic. Since you're a top Galveston real estate agent and resident, nobody is better situated than you to find out what's up. If you need any legal or Kung Fu help, I'm here to assist. I can be there in an hour. Let's get to the bottom ...

Re: Freeport 28-Aug-2022

Don't give up on kayak-fishing, Dave. You just have to be on location when the gamefish are there! Sounds easy, but it's not. I recommend you join up with one of the TKF veterans on your next trip. They can help you find the fish. By the way, that skinny silver fish you almost caught was probably a ...

Gee whiz, Watson, you obviously need some help catching those 75 nighttime Trout, Reds & Flounder! I loved your photo of many gamefish in that underwater light. [emoji226] Wow! Yes, you found loads of biting gamefish & biting mosquitoes. What a weird Summer we've had with sweltering 100° day...

Thanks for sharing your fishing trip, Kitsune. [emoji106]

That clear water you've got down there makes me jealous. I do better when I can see the fish I'm trying to catch, lol.

Ron, it's about time we actually got together to share a cold beer and general information on every topic under the sun. Between the two of us every question can be answered. Isn't it wonderful having two knowledgeable polymaths on this TKF board? [emoji56] https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20220813/...

Re: Medina River 08-06-2022 - It Ain't Pretty, Y'all

This was one of the most thoughtful, well-written and informative TKF threads this Summer. But Kayak Kid and I are still grumpy old men who can hardly believe what the world is coming to. Is over half the country bat-shit crazy? I worry most about the children I'll sire once I find Ms. Right... [emo...

Great information, men, and special thanks to Ron for throwing me into a state of terminal depression. I'm usually a happy-go-lucky guy. Our rivers are all drying up and we're getting closer to death every day. Goodness gracious. Time to hit the Makers Mark and try to find somebody to take me fishin...

Re: Under the lights…

Thanks for that terrific comparison which has been borne out in my own nighttime fishing experience.

I target the white lights first, especially the white surface lights that often show bait, gamefish & splashing predatory activity.

Impulse, you answered that question beautifully & comprehensively like a guy who actually lives on a neighborhood canal, lol. [emoji1787] I'm a lawyer and approve of what you said. The bottom line is that fishing the canal lights is legal, but discretion is strongly advised to avoid property dam...

Re: Copano Thieves

Texas Jim, I loved your spirited rant and concluding poetry, "Stealing is the national sport." Well said. Seems like us older men who grew up in the 60s remember when locking your doors was optional. Your steel box idea sounds good, but I'm thinking of also adding burglar bars to my Explor...

Re: Copano Thieves

Post pandemic crime has exploded not only around Rockport, but Houston and country-wide as well. A lawyer friend of mine last week parked at the House of Pies and emerged after dining to see his catalytic converters (all 4 of them) stolen from his Taho pick-up truck. What's shocking is the same thin...

Yes, Sand trout are delicious when cooked fresh. I agree they taste maybe slightly better than Speckled trout, but I'll take fresh Crappie over those.

Hey guys, call me if you need company on a Crappie trip... [emoji1]

Re: The dog days

Thanks for your enthusiastic nighttime report, Yak Boi. You get extra points for persistence which paid off with your solid 23" Trout. It's funny how the nighttime catch swings one year toward Redfish, but this year toward Speckled trout. Watson filed a 50+ Trout TKF report last week. Keep up t...
