Trout in a redfish hole (Flat between South bay and LHL))

Took my buddy up on an offer to go fishing last week (Oct 12). Gave our favorite guides at Slowride Guide Service a shout, and hooked up with guide George Stevens. Shout out to George, you are a lot of fun to go fishing with sir! We had a blast! Launched out of south bay bait shop to no winds at fir...

Rattlesnake Point - A tale of two trys

Try #1 - Got to break away for a fishing trip with my dad. Got into Rockport Thursday July 28 at 5pm and dad and I launched at the pathways launch off Rattlesnake point road at 6:30pm. Outgoing tide was really moving water and the wind was 12-15 SE. Paddled toward the Redfish Lodge throwing lures. D...

Re: Rattlesnake Pt - July 24, 2016

Had success on this shoreline recently as well for trout....want to try going right instead of left on a calm day. On my navionics app there appears to be a reef at the end of those houses extending out in the bay....straight ought from lone tree point? gets into a bit more open water so winds would...

Re: Any rockport reports?

it's plenty fishy. Fresh water not too big a deal. It's hot so fish flats close to deep water access....not too hard to find in Rockport area. I fished Rattlesnake point launch a week ago....posted a report in the reports section you can check out.....and had some good blowups at the end of port bay...

I know ill be back....and yes the night fishing around those lights is awesome as long as it doesn't rub the homeowners the wrong way....people...

Rattlesnake point

Tried the relatively new launch off of rattlesnake point road. At least it is being maintained well and is an easy launch point. Never fished this launch before. Decided to try it after Ingleside skunked me the day before and the pre-light morning bite at the end of Port Bay road was slow (although ...

Re: Big trout??

I can't top any of this advice. Trout support DVD's for sure......if you can't quite zero in on a spot, I have always caught trout where deeper water meets shallower water and grass type flats, spring through fall throwing a spook jr. Throw that lure enough, along these type edges, and you will catc...

Re: Troutsupport Shout-out

I also got the catching big trout in winter DVD for Christmas! Watched it twice already. I can't believe the level of info the guides on the video give. Holy cow! I have fished with great guides who didn't teach me as much as these videos....I have a spot in mind I want to try after watching and can...

I have fished back there, just wading....but i parked up above that road....when I was there a man in a two wheel drive suburban pulled up on that road and got out to wade fish...it is like all "side roads" at the coast, most are treacherous and can sometimes be driven by 2 wheel drive veh...

I checked the forum at 4pm, looked good so I get there a few minutes early. Well I sat there for 45 minutes before anyone came and asked who/what I was there for. Pretty much sums up my weekend. Symtex, my sincere apologies....had a last minute issue and had to cancel....certainly didn't intend for...
