Yup Joe Doggett's fishing stories always a favorite but I paid attention to his first aid and safety tips also . Came across an older couple stuck in the sand one day they were trying to dig with a cardboard box .

I have a survival knife on my PFD you know the kind that has matches and compass in the handle but that will go in my survival dry bag .

wow to get tangle in your own lines. thats the problem. you should not but one anchor line. i have a pulley system for the anchor but not enpough to tangle myself to cut myself thru. i dont carry a knife, maybe i should. probably not. Is it important to carry a good Knife while yaking ?

I really didn't think about until someone said they turtled their yak and got tangled in the lines and had to cut themselves free
