New Inflatable Kayak
Lighting Kayaks just launched a new inflatable SUP with a peddle drive, and they are running a big special just like with the launch of the Nomad. This would solve my transport issue, but not sure if it would work that well for where I normally fish. https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/lightning-kaya...

Sorry for not supplying shipping info. I assumed PayPal would provide that. No rush getting the stickers.

Re: Does anyone have information?
I used to use the boat ramp in Jamaica Beach. It is a bit of a paddle from there through the channel. If that ramp is still public, be careful where you park. There is parking at the ramp but it was limited. Probably safest - and about the same paddle - to launch from the state park like Neumie sugg...

Re: Non Stop Speckled trout Action
Don, I dealt with that stuff in my early 20s. Found a naturopath that wasn’t interested in cutting me open. His equipment was a bit more “sophisticated” than your pump sprayer but did the trick. Get better. Going fishing with you is on my bucket list.

(Fishing) Report - There are good people out there
OK, bending the “fishing reports only” rule here…I was fishing and saw lots of bait moving…but was really out playing with my new kayak. It was very hot and I was out too long. Came back in a bit overheated. Being so exhausted, I was forgetful and left not just a padlock and keys on a trailer wheel ...

Re: Fish bag for viking reload
I tried searching and the manufacturer’s website returns an error. Amazon shows they are unavailable. Don’t know if it will fit in the hull of the Viking, but Delaware Paddlesports has their branded bag for $125. It’s hard to find on their site - I had to try several different searches to get to it....

Re: New pedal kayak maker
Got the Nomad on the water today. I was wrong about the seat - it is very comfortable. Took me a while to get the drive adjusted for me, but once that was set it worked great. Had one little issue with a tensioning nut being loose but had a wrench with me. Remembered an old post on TKF about having ...

Re: New pedal kayak maker
My Nomad finally came in. They were so overwhelmed with orders the delivery was pushed back about two months. Taking it out for the first time in the morning. Just looking at it, the boat is very solid. Hull is very thick - drilled some holes for the transducer line. Rudder is easily deployed/retrac...

I’m hitting Churchill in the AM mostly to put the new Nomad on the water. I might do well since I’m playing and not trying so hard fishing

Re: Transporting on Pickup Question
If you decide to go the trailer route, Northern Tool has 4x8 trailers that will fold in half and can be stored upright. I got the aluminum version on sale a few years ago. Don’t use the folding feature as I added some storage to the trailer. Several of the Malone storage components will fit on the 4...

I sent them the hull number and photos of the damage. Still haven’t heard back. I sealed the area of the break as Prof Salt suggested.

Re: Post your trailer!!!!
Added a tongue box and aluminum sheet with eye bolts to my trailer. The trailer is an aluminum 4x8 from Northern Tool that some Malone components fit on nicely. Loaded up the trailer is so light you don’t notice it’s there and is easy to move by hand.

Re: Lithium 12v 100ah battery
Aside from the price, the disadvantage I see with these is the weight. I use two of the Nocqua 10 Ah batteries and they last for days. They are light and small. I fit mine into a small Pelican case. They are now selling a 20 Ah battery for $170. I’m only using power for a depth finder and camera/pho...

Re: Motor Mount - Jackson Kraken
Check out these: https://yakgadget.com/collections/trolling-motor-mounts
Not a good place on the stern of a Kraken to mount a motor. These would work mounted to the tracks on the tank well. Not sure of the size but you might still be able to use the J-Krate with this mount.

I have two GoPros, just don’t always take them out. Need to make myself gear them up. I miss a lot of pretty scenery if not hookups.

After clearing data and trying a different browser, it appears the issue is with my VPN. Had to turn it off to fix the issue. For some reason, turning the VPN off with Safari didn’t solve the issue.

Re: Dual Trailer
Definitely not turn-key, but Northern Tool sells an aluminum version of the 4x8 and 5x8 trailers. I got the 4x8 and built up rails using square aluminum tubing from Home Depot. Added the Malone Wings for support. Also got the Malone Mesh Cage that fit perfectly in one of the spaces. Also added a Mal...

Churchill Bayou 6/9
Hit Churchill early Friday. Wind was very calm. Strong current. Bait was everywhere but not interested in anything I had. Hooked up a nice flounder but lost it. I did catch a rod with an Ambassador reel attached 8) Not sure if the reel is salvageable. No one I came across was catching much. Leaving ...

Re: Rockport Area 7/1/23 through 7/7/23
Just got back from there on Thursday. Didn’t post anything as I am having trouble posting anything. That and it wasn’t very productive  Water wasn’t as clear as I have seen it in the past. Current was strong both days I was on the water. Bait blowing up everywhere. Saw a nice red tailing but he...

When I try to post anything or go to my profile area I get redirected to the login page. This was only doing this on my desktop but has now started on my iPad. Any suggestions?

Re: Braided line color
I saw a video where they tested the visibility of different colors of braid and it appeared the green was less visible. Until we can ask the fish, who knows  The video was fairly convincing. I fish mostly in the Galveston area so I doubt it matters. Seeing the clear water in the Rockport/Corpu...
