Re: Custom decals differences and installation
I didn't want to pay for a HOOK1 decal, so I used the vinyl plotter at work and made my own... along with some other cool custom decals.

Best way to mount a Humminbird PiranhaMax FF!
I know this method is floating around out there somewhere, but I just wanted to show how awesome and clean this looks! It's especially hard to find a good spot on a WS Ride that will accommodate a Hummingbird Piranha mounting bracket. This video explains it step by step http://www.youtube.com/watch?...

Re: Brazos near Lake Whitney???
Long-nosed, but we did catch an alligator gar. They were extremely aggressive in the heat... As soon as the perch head hit the water they were running with it.

Re: Brazos near Lake Whitney???
Glad to hear your trip was enjoyable Par3. What were y'all catching bass on? Only thing I can get em to bite on down there is a fluke or a lizard fished weightless and weedless. HG We only used flukes and a 5" yellow minnow rig which is what I caught the bass on. He also netted some perch alon...

Caught a crane on a top water lure!
Today is my birthday, so I decided not to waste it and snuck off for some early fishing. I was bass fishing a small pond near lake Whitney this morning on my girlfriend's 10' pescador and doing pretty well. Bass were jumping everywhere so I dropped the grub and threw on a top water. First cast into ...

Re: Brazos near Lake Whitney???
Just returned from our trip and it went great. Just enough water to float the whole way without walking. Little to no current and a head wind that cooled us off. Caught a 25 lb gar, some nice channel cats, and a couple 4-5 lb large mouth. The fish are HUGE out there. Crystal clear water and our guid...

Brazos near Lake Whitney???
So I'm taking a guided trip down the Brazos this weekend South of Lake Whitney, and I was wondering if anybody knows how well the water is flowing over there? Will I be doing a lot of paddling since it's drought season? Any help is appreciated!

No gator training but I did sign a fairly lengthy waver that probably forfeited liability of gator, bear, beaver, or hyena attacks.

Re: NEW - Trinity River Kayaking Shuttle!
I only dragged twice, but I never had to get out. The river is pretty low right now but totally floatable. You just have to paddle more because the lack of current. I wouldn't suggest mirage drive only because there are some shallow spots and random trees/boulders, but then again, I've never used it...

Re: Ride115 - Do I need a rudder?
Thanks for the advice guys. I've decided to splurge for the rudder. When bass fishing down the bank I'm constantly having to one hand my paddle for a quick drift adjustment. It gets annoying when you're approaching a good fishing spot... I have a 2012 115 with a rudder and a 2013 135 without (haven'...

Re: NEW - Trinity River Kayaking Shuttle!
This is the only shuttle service for the Trinity River. It's on a decent stretch of river south of Lake Lewisville that is very clean. I know there is a tube shuttle service you can use for kayaking on the Brazos near Milsap. I haven't tried it out yet.

Re: First Questions, post "search"
Definitely going to depend on the size of water you're fishing. I don't know much about fishing BTB or how these boats handle in surf, but the Wilderness Systems Ride 135 is worth looking at. It's a lot of boat for the money.. amazing stability (easy to stand), 550lb weight capacity, accessory rails...

Re: Ride115 - Do I need a rudder?
I do a lot of drift fishing down the bank for bass. That alone is probably worth the $200 if it keeps me from messing with the paddle too much. I saw a post that said, "When you first start kayak bass fishing.. you spend 50% of the time fishing and 50% of the time messing with the boat. As you ...

NEW - Trinity River Kayaking Shuttle!
Just found out that Trinity River Kayak in Coppell will be open this Friday! They offer 1 to 6 hour floats south of Lake Lewisville and maintain 15 miles of the Trinity River. River fishing is my passion, but DFW doesn't offer many options aside from driving to the Brazos. I'm excited to see this se...

Ride115 - Do I need a rudder?
I picked up my 2013 Ride 115 a few weeks ago. I'm really enjoying it so far, but covering a lot of lake can be quite a task. Could I benefit from installing a rudder? The tracking doesn't seem too bad.. I blame the stable hull design and width for the lacking speed. However, if the tracking is impro...

I think they look awesome and seem VERY fishable. My only quarrel with a SINK is that it's freakin' HOT in Texas. I like to hop off my SOT at a moments notice, or at least keep my feet in the water. Also, with my new RIDE115, I fish side saddle quite a bit. One day I'll have a different yak for ever...

x2 on more colors. I'd bet money that they offer fishing colors next year. I see plenty of requests. BTW - I'm really trying to ignore the local craigslist ad for a 2013 Ride 115 with carbon paddle for $700. REALLY trying! Got a link? My BIL wants that same boat and has been saving. I've looked but...

Re: JK Cruise vs WS Ride 115
Spend the extra $100 and buy the Ride 135. Tracks much much better than 115. You will greatly appreciate the extra room and tracking later. Trust me!!! If I could own 2 yaks I would definitely have a 14' in the stable for big water.. but my budget only allows for 1 do-it-all yAk. I actually decided...

If you can stay with the cruise, I have a coosa and cuda 12 love them both can stay in it all day with that seat.
