Developing an app would cost tens of thousands of dollars. Depending on functionality you want it to have... It can easily shoot into hundreds of thousands and more. It will lock you to given platform (Apple, Google, etc). It will make you vulnerable -- e.g. Apple will kick your app off their platf...

Re: Powerboat success at John Wayne Cut!
Here, found a good video -- you could see how menhaden school looks like normally and how it looks like when something is chasing them. I saw precisely that at SLP when incoming tide sucked in bunch of clear water into the bay (alas, no feeding).

Re: Powerboat success at John Wayne Cut!
The N 5 wind had flattened and calmed the surf, so we motored out past the toll bridge to see acres of silver shad snapping and popping all around us. There were groups of seagulls and terns crashing the water to get at them. All that rowdy action led us to believe there were gamefish attacking the...

Interesting. That pic is my brother. I'll let him know so he can check it out as well. I am learning some photography (and related software), just recently was watching video on how to make portraits extra gritty/dramatic. This one is called Dragan Effect -- original photo caught my eye as pretty g...

Thanks for checking out my report. I hope you guys enjoyed it. Good luck on your next fishing trip and tight lines! I played with one of your images, result isn't ideal considering resolution of source material (and my meager skill), but you might like it :) (click on it for full-resolution image) ...

Re: Cold Enough For You?!
Redfish ought to be in much better shape than trout. Most all the big breeders are safe in relatively warm offshore waters and redfish are tougher than trout in the cold anyway. Yeah, but on the other hand it takes couple of years (4-5?) for redfish to reach 24". I.e. if they get wiped out in ...

The sooner we achieve "herd immunity," the sooner we can ditch these damn face-masks and start partying again! Absolutely nothing prevents us from ditching muzzles right now. Their efficacy at preventing spread is laughable (especially in close quarters, like airplane, etc). Maybe slows d...

Re: Shoffer's PB Speckled Trout!
I have decided to give Crusader a pass. Crusader PM'd me yesterday, offered a heartfelt apology, and blamed his poor attitude on the frustration he felt at the dearth of time on the water. It appears that Crusader has stumbled upon a new hobby. When I inquired what it was, he sent me a link to this...

Like lures, rods, reels, and line are a personal choice as well. I prefer fast action rods with sensitive tips. Other may prefer a softer action. But if you're looking to invest in saltwater specific setups here's what I'd recommend. Reels: Purchase a saltwater specific reels. There are great baitc...
