MW - Golf with your son instead fishing - an easy call, I believe. When I would return to SoCal on a visit I would often play a round of golf with my Uncle, also my namesake Ken! Those were great times, even though I was more off the course than on since I never played much. He, on the other hand, h...

Fishing was not quite as hot for me after that first afternoon, but I did catch another of those fat specs in the morning. The trip east produced little!. But dinner was great and the moon was on display!

Not that sandy beach like Galveston where the sand is imported from somewhere, this is a beach made of the local source - oyster shell and a few other species. The shell is of various sizes depending on how traumatic its life on the beach has been. We landed one afternoon for a few days. 20211017_18...

Great report, Ron. Perhaps you have thrown down the gauntlet for trip reporting! Gestalt - I have added this to my list of words - I like it in the sense of a fishing outing - there are many different aspects that play a part in the enjoyment/pleasure of an outing. With the continuation of this vers...

Big moon Sunday night –
Went to Tiki late Sunday, launching as late as you can get as still be Sunday, off before sunrise. There was a big bite window from 1:11 till 3:11 with an incoming tide a bit later. On launch the tidal flow was still strong going out. We were a bit early to catch the best of the incoming flow. We we...

Thanks for the report - Congrats on getting out and making adjustments to get on the water.
Am curious - did someone at the Sea Isle ramp ask you to move on?

SLP 6-3
Launched in the AM just after sunrise into calm winds and the initial stages of an incoming tide. Went that far south in hopes of finding salty water on the surface. There was some salt but not a lot!! But lots of fish action – most of it not very accessible as it turns out!! I was trolling across C...

Congrats on getting out and thanks for the report - I catch a lot of reds, flounder and specs on that same jerk shad! just don’t have the hang of the flounder bite yet. I think you are selling yourself short here ^ - you caught 4 flounder! I agree that flounder are tricky and perhaps you missed some...

Yup, they are there - congrats on finding them and thanks for the report
I like it when redfish start acting like bait fish schools and take to circling the lights in large numbers!! Amazing how fast they can disappear!

Thanks for the comments Don - - Yup, Buc-ee's is a standard aspect of our trips - cheap ice, gas, food, drinks and the 'facilities'! It would have to be in a recap for the year. Our trip together will make the 2021 recap - I have the pic of your nice spec! In reviewing the report I see an abundance ...

Speaking of fishing buddies – wow, you join the PACK group, there is a great bunch!! There are many outings through the group and several are weekend get-aways. This pic shows some of the tents from Panther Point. Also, some fish you catch are memorable for the circumstances – These two mid-slot red...

There are many folks that you know through this site, but that you may never meet. Well, I had the chance to head south with Blake where we met up with Ron Mc and his fishing buds to fish Estes. It was great to be able to put faces to the names and to fish in a different environment than I encounter...

2020 Recap
Not much new going on so here are some comments and pictures from last year – For a few years now I have had the pleasure of having a fishing buddy, we’ll call him Mike, for going on trips with. On the way to and from we discuss many topics, often related to fishing. We both feel that our fishing ha...

An afternoon at Snake Island Cove
I launched at Noon at Sea Isle with Dandydon and we headed over to Snake Island Cove. The air and the wind were both about 63 degrees and it was foggy! We had been in intermittent fog on the way down but it seemed thicker here. It stayed with us all day, rising some so we could see the grass banks a...
