Re: To keep, or not to keep
I have chosen to release big trout and upper slot reds because their meat quality goes down as they get larger. I'll eat 16" trout all day long over anything over about 22". However, I have yet to eat a large flounder that didn't eat as well as a smaller one, so unfortunately for the flou...

Re: Jig Spinners
I think from Captain Kevin Cochran--although I hope I am referencing the correct source--in any case, I have heard that, whereas the non-inline spinner baits such as the one you picture are not a problem on Largemouth Bass, with their toilet-sized mouths, they can be counter productive in the salt,...

Preferred GISP Launch Point? (Galveston)
For those of you that might fish this area:
Which launch entrance do you prefer to use? The one by Jenkins trail, Oak Bayou or the one over on Lake Como?

9/1/16 - Thursday Morning Fishing
It looks like there might be a break in the rain on Thursday. Was trying to get out to fish before the labor day craziness begins. Anyone else looking to try to get out on the water? Its been a challenge getting a break in this weather to go lately. This will only be my 3rd trip in my new kayak (new...

Re: pickup bed extenders
I was unaware of the red light thing if transporting at dark. Does everyone on here follow that practice? I always leave out pretty early in the morning while still dark but have never had a red light attached to the back of any kind. Of course I have the red flag and a couple of reflectors (my choi...

This is pretty awesome. Makes me think those jerk shad artificials would do well with trout after watching.

Re: Headlamp Reccomendations Please!
I have had many questions on mine and where I got it. It is super bright!. Four settings, low, high, flashing, off. Uses only 3 AA batteries and I get about 4 nights of all night fishing (8pm-6am) before changing the batteries. Zoomable, adjustable, good head band and has held up to water splashes ...

Re: Weekend Slam - 8/6-8/7
Nice! I finally got the kayak out I bought from you last month. Went to West bay and paddled around for about 4 hours. Didn't catch anything but it was fun regardless. My focus was more on getting used to fishing from a kayak. Going to try to get back out early Sunday morning depending on rain in th...
