Re: Boat electrical repair recommendations Rockport/CC

I have had luck repairing stuff while thinking how I would do this at work. Sometimes its just an attitude or a stiff drink (kidding).

Re: My New Hobie Lynx Setup

Since adding the Torqeedo, I leave my mirage drive and use a Werner carbon paddle.

Latest and most favorite addition is Marine Mat, from Louisiana Kayak Accessories. Looks and feels nice, quiet, non slip.

Re: Salt Lake in Rockport

We built a home, two story yellow house on a peninsula at the end of Salt Lake Rd. Sometimes while on the computer I could see Redfish cruising the shoreline. I would go downstairs and grab my fishing rod. The three largest trout I have hooked were in Salt Lake in the spring.

Re: Topwater bite

There were some spots where my Hobie drive would not work but was enough for me. Not much grass but water looked very good.

Topwater bite

Drifted across Estes Flats, the worst kept secret fishing spot around Rockport. Had a nice slow drift going back to our launch site when I tied on the topwater Spook jr. Got about ten blow ups but no hook ups but was fun watching trout coming out of the water, keeper size.

ACK closed its doors but other doors opened, namely Fin Factor move the store from Mercedes to San Antonio. They are a Hobie dealer amongst other brands.

On a related note, Fin Factory is opening a new store in San Antonio. Maybe other smaller venues will open in other cities

Re: Fishing report, 10-30-21

That 29" Redfish had a bunch of small shrimp pinned against the bank just slurping them in. Once hooked, it did not speed off, rather it towed me down stream.

Fishing report, 10-30-21

Launched at 0700, dark with little to no wind. Tides had dropped about 1.5', paddled most of the time was too shallow to use mirage drive. But, Redfish were scattered and showing themselves. Caught and released 6 Reds, all sight casting. Two scenes were memorable. First were two redfish basically &q...

Re: Fishing report, causeway Corpus side.

I would have taken a picture but the big girl was out of the water too long due to the tangled mess of two treble hooks. There is a video from a friend , Clean Fun Fishing on youtube. My trout is at the end of the video and explains better where we were.

Fishing report, causeway Corpus side.

Launched at the Corpus side of the causeway before sun up. Lot of small trout action at end of the pier due to large projection light on the water with some keepers. Paddled under the causeway to fish the debris from old causeway. Water was high so was hard to locate the concrete . Note, beware of w...
