Could not agree more Big Gabe. I think that is what all us kayak fishers have in common, we truly appreciate our time on the water and how special it is.

Re: First largemouth from my kayak!!

Congrats on the bass-Nice fish. The gar are spawning here too. A bobber with small pieces of fresh cut shad on a treble hook to match will do the trick. Give them a few seconds before you strike and hold on. They can be easily located and caught right now. I have had some fun days chaing them at thi...

Re: Favorite species of fish

If we are talking anywhere in FW it has to be Northern Pike for me. The speed and aggression in which they strike is an incredible thing to see and feel, especially in clear water. Amazing fish to catch on lures and this fish will make your heart beat faster when he clamps down on your bait out of n...

I use an Optio Pentax 33WR. I have had it about 6 years and take it in the yak every time. It is pretty beat up now but still takes some half decent pics.

Re: When life hands you a broken paddle...

That was some quick thinking and a pretty decent repair. Duct tape, a saw, even a breakfast biscuit. I bet you would be covered no matter the emergency  Two years ago I was lucky enough to be close to a store when my paddle came apart and I bought some duct tape so I could get back to fishing. ...

I always carry a pair or two of kids Fiskar scissors. They are small, cost about $3, sharp where they cut and have blunt ends so they will not stab you if they are in your pocket. They hold up really good to. You can pick them up at most regular stores like Wal-Mart. Something I have always done whe...

How big a piece of drum did you use and what size hook worked for you?
