Re: .270 suggestions

Remingtons 700's are very popular due to all the modifications that can be made to them. For the price, a bull barreled Savage with the accutrigger is going to be hard to beat. Don't limit yourself to just that caliber, there are lot's of good options out there. Some others I like are 25/06, 7mm-08 ...

Re: AR 10 .308

Rounds are about the same as 270 or 25-06. I'm paying about $24 for a box of 110gr Barnes TSX. Academy has started stocking the 6.8 ammo, but currently only in Remington brand. I prefer the Silver State Armory and order it from Cheaper than Dirt. It's been researched extensively and determined that ...

Re: AR 10 .308

If you want to shed a few pounds off the AR10....look into the AR15, but with a 6.8spc upper on it.
Ballistics and expansion are outstanding for anything we shoot at in S. Texas.

Re: How much is too much?

I have more reels than I care to count. I told myself just a few months ago that THAT'S IT.....I had everything I needed to last me a long time without buying another. Well wouldn't you know, I had the opportunity to pick up one of those new Curado 50's. Now I have ANOTHER reel in my arsenal  .

I have a 25qt. Roadie, but have never used it while yakking.
It's a little on the heavy side.
I usually just take a frozen 2 liter bottle of water with me and I'm good to go.

Re: I love my Big Game but...

I'm 260'ish and my Heritage Redfish 14 has handled me and my gear for well over 2 years now with out a single problem or complaint from me.
It handles chop well and is about as fast as a Tarpon 140.

Re: Question: Artificials under a cork?

The pop mirrors a feeding fish like a trout which makes a similar noise when slamming fish. To a fish they hear this sound and think that something is chasing bait they then see the lure zig zagging like crazy and think that it is a bait trying to flee for its life. Actually, the "pop" or...

If you like buying once get the Boga....it will last forever.
Mine goes wading with me and is under saltwater for hours at a time.
A 10 second rinse when I get home and I'm done. 5 years later and still no rust.
