Re: Post your ride!

Here’s my new Old Town Topwater 120, I’m still in the rigging process. I’m trying figure out if I’m using the transducer area on the bottom of the kayak or get a portable rig. I have a Garmin to mount.

garmin striker 4 transducer on Topwater 120

Question I’m hoping to mount the transducer onto the transducer mount under the kayak. But when I attach the metal adapter to the transducer it looks as if it will not fit. Before I take the time to try and install the transducer does anyone know if it will fit correctly. Or should I go with a Scott...

Re: Hi Tomorrow 9/28

It was not a very eventful day. Mini Blue and I went. He tried to go out but broke his paddle. I continued out and started fishing at 8 ft. Nothing but gafftop. I didn’t feel comfortable going out any further since I was the only kayaker out there.

12-17 Fishing Report Moody Island

5 of us launched from San Luis Pass County Park. Very nice facility. We fished the cut between Moodys and Mud Island. The wind was pumping SW at 20+ and the tide was ripping. I lost 2 probably flounder. Which seemed to be the story for most of us. 1 had success, he boated 3 Specks using a voodoo shr...

Re: Copano Bay area

We have fished Rattlesnake Point. There is a kayak launch there. Once your out of the canal turn left and fish around Redfish Lodge and the islands in that area. We also fish Estes Flats and launch out of Palm Harbor RV Park off of 35. I think they charge a $5 dollar launch fee. When launch from Pal...

Beautiful day on the water. This was the first time for me and miniblue to fish the area. Winds picked up mid-morning. I caught 3 nice specks 17"-20". The area is awesome. We will be back.

Re: What happened to HI?

I can't answer your question of what has happened to the fishing around HI, but I can tell you It has nothing to do with rain and runoff. The Sea Rim area is much more vulnerable to freshwater intrusion than HI because of the Sabine Neches waterway. Even then any impact is short term, like a few da...

What happened to HI?

It's seems the fish aren't there. What do y'all think is going on? Is it from all the run off this year? Overfishing? Maybe the environment changed from all the rain?

If you keep your head down most of the time I can see them getting sick. Also they kept the mullet out. That smells nasty has the sun heats it up.
