Love my new inflatable Intex Excursion Pro-2 kayak.
Yes, at age 81, I bought my 6th kayak. While I still have a 17 ft tinny here in TN., I decided that there were some small ponds/lakes around that I'd like to fish. For well under $500, all-in, I can deflate; fold, and transport this 12 ft. yak anywhere. I added a far better seat and I still don't have much money in the deal. It takes less than five minutes to re-inflate it and launch. Having fun at my advanced age! Intex Excursion Pro-2. richg99

looks like a great light boat option.
When Josh and I were out a few weeks ago, I took the 45-lb Redfish 10.
It did that job perfectly.
Some people take inflatables out in coast wind. There, I'd think a skeg is just about required.

It is SO MUCH fun to catch a good fish from a kayak. Almost as much fun as catching them wade fishing. p.s. I wish I could get my big butt into a redfish 10.

Rich, I was impressed how well it supported me, great glide and spin, and easy to position with light paddle.
Also had to portage up a 3'-tall chute, and it was easy enough for that.
I'm 6'3 and 215, all limbs.
Though it's 30" wide, I can still straddle it for fishing comfort.

Good on you, Rich. I had to give up kayaking at age 80, so I will enjoy sharing your experiences with you vicariously.

I had an old, small drift chute/windsock/drift anchor. I added that to the anchor trolleys that I put on. It keeps the boat where I want it, without having to anchor.
The wind likes to blow inflatables around, but there are ways around some of those issues. Without the built-in skeg, this thing would dance around and around. I am going to 3D print a longer, but shallower, skeg to replace the two included ones. We shall see.
