Creek Fishing Near Melissa

Post by ohioman76 »

New to fishing Texas. I have hit Lavon Lake several times and have had some luck with the Sandies and Crappie. I see a lot of videos of guys hammering Sandies in the creeks. I have a compass duo and am looking for creeks to fish for late winter Crappie and Sandies. Not looking for anyone’s honey holes just a good creek to launch my yak and explore around. Thanks everyone and tight lines.

I lived up there for 7 years, but over on the FW side of the metroplex. I had a great trip on the East Fork below Lavon (launching from 78) and caught nice bass and my only bowfin. But I'm sure there are white bass and crappie in there if we had been targeting them.

I also would launch on Lewisville from Big Sandy Ramp on the west side and paddle up to Pecan Creek for white bass and crappie.
