Re: Would you shoot bigfoot?
I would shoot. Besides no one walks around the woods on other people's land in Texas with a bigfoot costume on. I could also really use the millions of dollars I would get from selling the body.

I wouldnt shoot one unless it threatened me. On another note, i wonder what kind of dry rub you would use on a bigfoot?

Re: Would you shoot bigfoot?
Yes I would shoot Bigfoot because if I didn't I would be forced to take my sighting to the grave because people would think i'm crazy....i mean crazier..
And I don't think I could keep that a secret.

Re: Would you shoot bigfoot?
I vote "NO". Years ago I would've said yes, cause I was young and full of vinegar, but now I'm just older and can't run as fast in case I missed......... I once shot a crow and got attacked by a flock of them, I didn't have enough BB's in my trusty Daisy "Red Rider" to shoot them all!! So I ran all the way to the house and told mamma the crows were after me for shooting at them,,,,,,my mom just laughed and said, "Serves you right!!" I never shot at another bird since then...............

Re: Would you shoot bigfoot?
Are we talking big mean scary beasts coming at you or Harry & the Hendersons here? I have to say I wouldn't shoot. I don't believe in killing for fun or money & to me it's just too close to a human being. Now if it was more like a crazed ape coming at me with the obvious intent to do harm then of course I'd do what anyone else would to protect themselves & thier loved ones. If I did ever come across something like that I think I'd just try to track it & find out where it hides out. Who knows, maybe there's a family. Maybe they'll invite me over for a nice salad & evening of stimulating conversation. LOL

Lets see………. I deep fried the Loch Ness Monster,
BBQed a few chupacabras,
slow roasted a Abomitable Snowman…
but when it came down to it…I just couldn’t pull the trigger on our Bigfoot Friend….
the Yeti lives still…..

Wolfman,
If you slow roasted the Abominable Snowman, then the Yeti "does not live" since the Snowman and the Yeti...........are one and the same.

A little something on Yeti lore.

Re: Would you shoot bigfoot?
I absolutely love this subject. Guess I'm a closet believer. Growing up I was so paranoid that the Hawley Him was lurking outside my tent on every camping trip. Parents liked scaring me and just egged it on
From the Bigfoot Information Project:
July 6 of 1977, three witnesses saw the "Hawley Him", and it threw rocks at them. This occurred at the Abilene Boys Ranch near Hawley, Texas. The next month, three women saw a Bigfoot on the road near Trinidad, Texas, which borders Cedar Creek Lake. Two weeks later a man saw a seven-foot-tall Bigfoot on a road near Corsicana, which is in the same general area.
In January of 1978, a woman in Sand Hill reported to the Harrison County Sheriff's Department that a Bigfoot growled at her, and was fighting with some dogs in the woods in the community about eight miles west of Marshall on U.S. Hwy. 80.
In June of 1978, in the town of Vidor, Texas, a couple had so many sightings of a Bigfoot around their house that they were forced to move out. August of 1978 brought a flap of activity to the Commerce, Texas area in the vicinity of guess where? The Sulphur River bottoms. On the nineteenth, in broad daylight, a witness saw a Bigfoot cross the road ahead of them and it went across a pasture towards the river. Also that month a witness saw a seven-and-half-foot-tall Bigfoot cross a forty-two foot wide road in three steps while he was driving at night. Two days later on the same road, three boys saw a Bigfoot around midnight.

I had to vote -no- to shooting. I would however, take him on with my genuine "Bowie" knife. LOL kidding.

This is where the Sulphur river flows
this is where the creature goes ......
cool topic and i wish one does exist along with the hopefully non extinct Ivory Billed Wood Pecker

Re: Would you shoot bigfoot?
Nighwing your point is what? that it might be a tinking cognitive creature? that would not help him with me.
I could care less about the fame it is the fortune I would be interested in.
I actually met the host/producer of one of the hunting bigfoot shows in a hotel lobby in Paris tx. While waiting in line we spoke for a few minutes, till I asked him "you dont really believe that crap right" He does believe and I thought it would turn violent for a moment there.

Re: Would you shoot bigfoot?
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...... Tough decision....Lets see.....
HELL YES I WOULD!!!!!!!
If I saw Bigfoot on my property, he'd be toast...
If it was some idiot in a costume, he shouldn't have been on my property and he shouldn't be so stupid to be in a bigfoot costume. It's called "Natural Selection"

Re: Would you shoot bigfoot?
To my knowledge a Bigfoot has not been seen by a hunter sitting on a stand or stalking. They are too smart to walk in front of one of millions of game cameras. They seem to only be seen or heard by people who are walking around at night and are already a littel scared.

I already made my point and you confirmed it.wetduck wrote:Nighwing your point is what? that it might be a tinking cognitive creature? that would not help him with me.
Re: Would you shoot bigfoot?
I wouldn't do it. There's no way.
If I positively identified something as bigfoot, forst of all, you know it's rare... even if it's not on an endangered list it's not the right thing to shoot something you know is extremely rare.
second of all... IF it's a bigfoot.... it's just too close to a human for me to shoot.
good thing there's no such thing

Re: Would you shoot bigfoot?
There have been times people have seen them hunting, I've seen them interviewed on tv. They said they didn't shoot either because they were of the 40% here who said no, or because like most of the 60% who said yes, they couldn't be certain what the target was and therefore wouldn't take the shot.Piscator wrote:To my knowledge a Bigfoot has not been seen by a hunter sitting on a stand or stalking. Re: Would you shoot bigfoot?
Would I shoot? it depends...How do bigfoots taste with potataoes and gravy? can I chicken fry it or is it better on da grill? garlic sauce or bbq sauce? I guess it goes back to the old saying...if I aint gonna eat it, i aint gonna kill it. sure i might get a butt load of cash for the final proof, but trust me, that would also come at a hefty price as well...could you imagine all of the tree huggin PETA freaks that would haunt you.. .
so I say let him live...his meat is probably high in chloesterol anyhow.

Re: Would you shoot bigfoot?
First of all I don't believe in the evolution of species. I do not believe that man is "related" to any other "primate".Jolly Roger wrote:If you had a clean kill shot on a Bigfoot would you take it? You could also get a great deal of money if you were the one to prove Bigfoot did exist.
Bigfoot, Yeti etc may exist, but I think not.
IF (great big IF) Bigfoot exists I would not shoot one and the money is totally irrelevant. I do not kill any creature unless I have a reason to do so.
Being able to prove something that most people don't believe has no appeal to me, and I would be mighty careful who I told if I actually saw one.
Photograph though is a whole different story.

Re: Would you shoot bigfoot?
As long as he was staying away from by Beef Jerky. The answer is no. Id shoot him with a camera
Re: Would you shoot bigfoot?
I think the only thing I would shoot a Bigfoot with, would be a camera. Unless he was charging me throwing things and breaking tree limbs.
Then I would open up!
Then I would open up!
Re: Would you shoot bigfoot?
(use your best redneck voice) Wow would you look at that, it is a rare and intresting animal, Honey get my gun. We can put it on the wall. I think I would shoot it. But like my deer hunting skills I would get bigfoot fever and end up just watching him walk away thru a very shaky scope.
Re: Would you shoot bigfoot?
If you did shoot a bigfoot think of the marketing opportunity. With alligators you have purses, boots and belts with a bigfoot you could sell toupees .How many toupees could a bigfoot make if a bigfoot could be made into toupees.

NO
nor a cat, bear, or wolf
nor a cat, bear, or wolf
Re: Would you shoot bigfoot?
why not a cat bear or wolf? Managment of wildlife needs to be done at all levels.
