So what's up lately with our AKA members and lack of posts?

1. You no longer kayak?
2. You no longer check out the AKA or TKF for that matter.
3. You moved away like Rick did?
4. Your in hunting mode and too busy to post?
5. You lurk but no longer post?
6. Other - fill the blank ____________?

For me it is #6 - I had back surgery this past Sept. 28th and have been out of pocket recovering. Won't be long now until I am back out there!

#6 went out of town, got back, had allergies, sinus troubles, got into chest, had upper respiratory infection, pneumonia ... got over it about a week ago but still just sorta drained and cold .... seems like I was sick for 3 months nearly :S But I needed it ....

Sometimes I just go and go and go and eventually ... He MAKETH ME LAY DOWN on green bedspreads.

I visit, but the lack of posts/topics have kept me quiet. I keep looking and hope to get together with someone for a local winter fishing day trip.

A local group fishing trip would be great, to Travis, Bastrop, or even the Colorado. I'd be in for one in January, weather pending. (I'm not too good with cold AND wet :/ )

l posted a trip to LA on fishing reports a couple of weeks ago, didn't put it here since it was a local trip, but l would be glad to repost for Bro Bob; otherwise, l have not been catching when l have been fishing.

Bastrop's hot right now and I know a good run on the Colorado.

I've met quite a few TKFer's but nobody that posts on AKA.
Rudys sounds good, but can't get out during the week right now.

Hey Bobby!

I want to fish badly but have a lot of things going on with my three kids pretty much every week and weekend. However, I had some time during Thanksgiving and had another training session for my son who will be the next generation kayak fisherman. He's gone with me a few times on local rivers the past couple of years but not kayak fished the coast yet. Hopefully will have a chance to take him in 2010.

Here's my son fishing out of his kayak just before Thanksgiving. I wonder if y'all can guess the location (should be pretty easy for some of you)

I'd go, but haven't made church in a while, and I told my girlfriend I'd go with her.

Either place would work for me.

There is a cool 8 mile trip on the river that I know has real good fishing,
but the river is slow right now and would be a longer trip. Maybe 6-7 hours.
I had a good day at Bastrop last weekend with 8 fish.

Maybe see who all wants to go and where?

All's good! I can appreciate your situation, and applaud your committment. Perhaps another day we can wet a hook together.
I think a few AKA fishing and eating gatherings a year would be a good thing. I have gone to a few gatherings at C.Hunts, and had a blast meeting others with similar interests.

6 - Since I transferred from Qatar to Egypt to Vietnam and training courses in Cairo, Ho Chi Minh City, and Singapore I've only had two full field breaks this year. I probably fished less in 09 than I have in the last 15 years. Hopefully 2010 will be better, especially as Santa brought be a 2010 FJ Cruiser with offroad package to explore South Padre. Thankfully I should only have 3 courses in the upcoming year.
