NW trying to have them complete for the Inks Lake gettogether, also getting ansy wanting to see how she handles. Not uch progress today, just lots of sanding the ply boat prior to glassing the rest of the inside.
On the strip panel boat last 2 upper panels installed and goopied.
Ron apart from the time to construct the actual panels, the assembly was easier for the strip panel than the ply, more pliable. can't speak for the finishing as yet (still on that stage). pre glassing the inside has to be easier just needed to tape the inside seams (easy) to maintain structeral integrity. On the ply boat glassing internals best done in 2 or 3 stages to difficult in one piece.
Yes Its the way to go for me, the only difficulty I have is deciding on plans. want to build 2 boats ( don't have the patience to build 1 and wait for epoxy to cure,so 1 can be curing while I work on the other ) for friends to fish rivers localy,so must be manuaverable. which of your builds best fits that bill?? the rivers I have in mind are the Guadalope and Llano.
The best all around boat I have is the T-V pretty fast turns and handle great and will carry a load.
It is the boat I use on the river for trips. Even with the seat 9 inches high I was able to throw the cast net with no problems.

I like the looks of that stripped hull.
Weight between the two hulls? I am curious ,you have ply and strip built side by side weigh them if you get a chance>
Ron
Yes sir I fully intend to be there,Just frustrated having to take time out, should have been done by now and on my next build. Look forward to seeing some exeptional craft and people.
Getting closer, not going to be fully complete for the bash but but will be at Inks come hell or high water, well the high water bit is iffy, havn't seen if she will float yet adding inwhales

Me, too, and I agree!
X2! I'm really impressed with the weight differential between the ply boat and the strip panel boat...that was amazing! The picture elsewhere on this board of MM standing up in the boat was just as impressive, too! Very stable, very light, very pretty!
