That looks great! Lots better than the weather we are having in Dallas today! We hit 81 degrees yesterday, and freezing drizzle this morning. I had to scrape the ice off my windshield. And the temp is still dropping, going to be in the teens by morning.

Looks like John is going to be eating in style! I think I'll just raid his cooler and blame it on the racoons!

Too cool! ........... But definitely reminiscent of our "salad bowl" trip on the Colorado, lol!!!!!!! Do I bring a machete? Who's bringing the power boat to churn up our paddling trails through the swamp?????? lol

Are you? Ok. I will take my canoe maybe both.

So do you think there are enough camp sites to share or should I reserve one today?

All tents most be on the camp side Pad, 15 x 15. My tent will need half. I can split my site if needed. Will be arriving between 1:30 and 2:30. WIll depend upon number of pit stops Lynne has to make.

I am taking my Kayak this trip since we are not camping from the boats, but Yaktipper will have her solo canoe.

Had a nice little chat with the park ranger last afternoon, and learned it has been cold for the past several days there at Caddo lake. The temps have been cold enough to kill off some of the nonnative invasive species of vegetation. This opens up the waterways for navigation, improves sunlight at depths, and increases the oxygen concentration in the water. There is still good cover and concealment for ambush preditors. At present crappie are biting, however, no word on the chain pickerel or paddlefish.
Good Hunting!

Looks like the temperature is going to be great! Not too hot, cool enough to be able to enjoy the fire. I think I like the forecast that Hirsch linked to (accuweather.com) better than weather.gov, the guys at weather.gov found out I was going camping and started hedging their bets, adding at least a 20% chance of rain each day   . Seems to always rain when I camp. Oh well, the fish are wet anyway. Wonder if I'll be able to actually catch something to eat this time.

I had planned to have a good portion of my stuff packed by now, but work got in the way this week.

*Really* looking forward to a relaxing week!

My wife hook me up by keeping her eyes open, saw a sign reading free wood . Loaded down the back of my truck toolbox to toolbox with pre-cut wood. Should have some to give away to everyone. Will kill me gas mileage to Caddo but we will have wood. :D

That is OK Paul. I was brought up to respect the mentally challenged. Besides our trip ends on a Friday so those who have to go to work Monday will have ample opportunity to resolve any issues regarding their gear. That is my story and sticking to it!
