Don't know how much I got but it's a bunch. I just checked spring branch and the Guadalupe was running 1400+ cfs so Canyon is catching some much needed water.trollinyak wrote:How much rain u guys getting.

I hope Medina is also, but that water shed is so small a storm has to hit a bullseye right over the town of Medina to put water into that lake.
I've seen it come up over night on several occassions over the years and I know it can happen, but it just needs to rain in the right place.

Re: lovin the rain
It's going to take a tropical system that kind of sits over the top of us for several days, and where you get those training effect storms that just continue to dump heavy rain for several hours like we had back in 2002 I believe.
Some reports I've read is that El Nino is moving in and we may be in for a lengthy period of rains through this fall.
I hope it's true, but I seem to have heard those reports before!

Amen. been at least 7-8 years since the Medina river was full bank to bank. about 5.5" fell where we needed it (everywhere) i know we will have a kayakable river for most of June and the swimming spots might last till august.

10" over the right spot which is in between those hills where the town of Medina is located. Anywhere either side of that and you are looking at a dry lake.trollinyak wrote:Looks like the lake is get more rain.how much rain would it take to fill it up.
Water going over the dam there in Bandera 15 to 20' deep the lake will fill overnight. It's happened about five to six times in my lifetime.
