What's a good way to store rigs?
What's a good way to store rigs?
Good afternoon y'all,
Is there any way to NEATLY store home tied rigs?
Mines are always getting tangled.
I use Carolinas for Reds/Flounders, tandems for specks, drop-shot for bass, and Santee-Cooper for cats.

Do I just wrap the rig around a piece?

something that I just discovered, but haven't put to use yet is the plastic case electrical tape comes in. I am not an electrician but we have a lot here at work, it hit me one day when I saw one of those cases in the trash. Been rounding them up since. They will hold one or a few leaders/rigs depending on size.
Re: What's a good way to store rigs?
I used to coil them up and put them in individual, small zip-lock bags.

Pool noodles work fine, and yes just wrap it around the noodle and you can even put the hook into the noodle. Those rigraps are nice, but not cheap.

X2. Just spent monday night making a bunch of rigs. Swivel, leader line, and hook already tied. Throw it in a ziplock with a bead and a wieght. Sharpie to mark weight and hook size on baggie.Yaklash wrote:I used to coil them up and put them in individual, small zip-lock bags.

Many thanks yall.
I've been getting tired of having tangled pre-tied rigs.
And having to re-tie them while on the yak is time-consuming when the wind is blowing hard.

I use cardboard.
Re: What's a good way to store rigs?
I do not really use anything. I usually just throw them in my boxes or in the hatch bag in the yak. When I get ready to use them I simply pull them out of the bag and begin sobbing like a child who just witnessed his dog getting ran over.

I use a ziplock bag as well.
