Fish ID??

I'm thinking this is a true dog fish. Thoughts?

There was a second one that followed as I reeled him up. I sure as hell didn't want to touch it!

Sure looks like one to me. That's one fish I won't touch with my bare hands.

Common Sea Robin, scientific name Prionotus carolinus

...and they are harmless.

We used to catch them by the bucketful as kids. They look cool when they are swimming...kinda like flying. I'm thinking that's where they got the name.
