Christmas bay 02-01-16

Post by wade-a-minuate »

Today was my birthday so I decided to make a trip to the bay and see what happens.Fog was the worst I've seen in along time so I didn't eBen launch until around 8:30.I couldn't see but I could hear boats in the fog and decided I didn't want to be a speed bump. This warm weather really messed up my trout pattern I've had going.Caught several flounder ,one slot red with a couple rats mixed in.About 1:00 I got on a couple black drum on the drop off side of a reef. That was pretty hot and heavy for about 15 minutes.I did catch a 21 inch Sherpshead on a 3" new penny gulp shrimp on my way back in.All fish caught on gulp in 8ft of water blind casting. Not what I was after but scratched out a stringer and had a blast doing it.

I'd definitely like to put some fins in the fridge. Besides, after my last outing there's definitely a need to be within the visual company of others. And besides, i just put a 3 blade prop on my TM, and added a "weighted" outrigger to starboard. My law of physics, "things that don't sink, float", says it should work. Just not sure i'd be able to go slow enough for you paddlers.

I'd meet up and do trip with you one day bud.Just remember sometimes going slow is what puts the fins in the fridge.Days like this trip if I Wasent slowly paddling and listening it would have been a skunk trip for sure.I sold my pb years ago because in a kayak I have to notice everything out of the ordinary while on the water. This trip due to the weather my trout spot Wasent producing so while paddling by a reef I noticed 2 small shrimp jump out of the water and one ripple.Thats where I caught fish,if I'd have been booking it by there I would have never noticed such a small thing.Im all about going slow
