April 2016 Competition

Post by jhb »

Let's keep it simple this month, whoever can catch the most Guadalupe bass... post as many as you can. Not greatest in total length, but greatest in total number caught. We'll accept anything that looks remotely Guady, so hybrids count, as long as we agree she has a drop of Guad blood in her, we'll count it.

Code is GTG (Get The Guads).

I like it a nice change up. I finally got a kayak rack for my 4runner so hopefully I'll be participating more this month.

Three Guads from this afternoon.

One of these is among the biggest and most beautiful I have ever seen.

Will include some extra pics on my next post.

Camped out with veterans from Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing and caught a couple Guads on the river Saturday.

Howdy Warthog and Sparrow and friend (?), good to see you on the river.

I am going to try to send a picture directly from my iPhone. Never done this before so it might not work. But able to get out each of the last two days with Veterans and caught a couple Guads in the process. Mostly it was just them fishing

Took a veteran and his dad out for a father/son paddle on Monday. They had a great time. The thunderstorms missed us all day. Good stuff. Got one more Guad.

The SMR is up and muddy, so I paddled the Guadalupe near Hwy 46 in New Braunfels.

Caught some awesome sunfish, a nice LMB, and three Guads.

I see you finally met the Nash boys also... they're good fellas, if a little crazy. Way to get the Guads skypilot. Been too busy for much fishing lately, but I have a caught a few largemouth.

I have know them for years . . . . and might have even recommended some fly fishing gear back in the day.

Good guys and a force to be reckoned with on the river

Caution . . . when you are too busy to fish . . . . YOU ARE TOO BUSY

See you on the water

Let's go fishing

Sorry, it's been a while since I've been on here! I have been fishing, mostly btb lately, but 6 month old Warthog, Jr. has left little time for the forums.

Yep, skypilot recommended some fly fishing equipment a few years ago, and it's still my favorite SM river setup. 7'6" 5wt Cabelas TQR rod. It was good to see you out there skypilot, and I'm sure we'll meet again sooner or later. Always a pleasure to run into such a fine fisherman and all around good fellow.
