I'll try to keep this short and let the pictures tell the story. Last week I had the privilege of paddling down the Devils' River about 12 miles to Dolan falls, returning back upstream to a campsite, and then back upstream to our private launch site on Rocker U ranch the next morning. Our group consisted of 6 men plus a guide. Half of our group had raced in the Texas water safari and were avid paddlers with little interest in fishing, so I really had to curb my fishing enthusiasm. I managed to catch a few small bass along the way, but had to fish fast to keep up with the group's paddling pace. I am now haunted by thoughts of beautiful green pools that I did not get to fish.

Thanks for the report and the pictures. It reminds me that I must keep this river on my radar. I have never paddled the Devils but posts like these help keep it on the lists of places to go.
