What an awesome day. It was pretty hot on the water yesterday. Little to no wind for most of the morning, so the Gulf was slicked off. Big schools of bait roaming around and schools of bull reds busting the bait at the surface. It was awesome to behold.
I ended up with 7 BRs and 6 sharks and my partner Wolfman had 8 and 9 respectively.
Hopefully Wolfman got some video of the reds busting bait.

Re: High Island 8/26 report
how far east of mcfaddin were you fishing?
Re: High Island 8/26 report
Working on the video. I got a clip of the red school right behind my boat. A bull red smacked the back of my FND.
Here’s one of the air jaws.

Re: High Island 8/24 report
I'm looking forward to getting back out there with you guys. My next trip has to be to Sabine to try and catch some slots and hopefully some Flatts. I've been scouting but haven't fished there yet. Can you get to the beach at Slapbs with a front wheel drive explorer now?
Re: High Island 8/24 report
Hey Mark, accessing the beach with 2WD will be day to day, but probably iffy. The 2WD guys who fish with us usually park next to the highway and drag their kayaks down. You're only talking 10 or 20 yards.
FYI, we seldom fish on weekends.

I'll keep checking in and hopefully it'll be on a day I'm off so I can meet up with y'all. Are y'all still buying mullet a Sea Pony?
Re: High Island 8/24 report
Yep, Sea Pony is still the go-to bait dealer.

Congrats guys!
