Post by CopanoCruisin »

Looking for recommendations for an electrical repair on my Mako 16 ProSkiff, around Rockport/Corpus Christi area. Intermittently I loose power to my bilge pump, baitwell and running lights. TIA………cC

Not yet, and yes I am with you on this, true hatred for electrical problems. I did replace the power switch about a year ago without success on the intermittent problem. I do think it is probably in the power wire to the switch, although having to get back up under the back deck just about requires a contortionist. Oh well, I will still deal with it as it really does need to be fixed. ………cC

I have had luck repairing stuff while thinking how I would do this at work. Sometimes its just an attitude or a stiff drink (kidding).

95% of the time this is a ground wire issue, remove, and clean your ground wire connections. Salt is especially hard on wire connecters, soldered connections are the only ones that last, and even then, not forever.
