Looking to purchase a small camper overlander type. We have 2 Hobie Outbacks we would take on most trips.
Other than mounting the yaks on my suv I was wondering if anyone ever mounted yaks weighing approx 75lbs each on a small camper?
How do yall haul your camper and kayaks?

I was going through that same scenario. I think it depends on the camper and where and how you mount the rack/rails. I decided that putting a rack on the bed of my truck would be a better solution. Mostly because I already have a solar panel and awning mounted to the roof of the trailer. I have not tried the system out yet but hope to in the next few weeks. If you mount to your trailer you will need to locate the structure to mount the rack. If you already have a rack or rails on the trailer, its an easier decision.

SUV rooftop rack would be most practical.

I did removable crossbar racks on a popup I had with some success. It was a pain to unload.
Now, when I tow my camper, I load the kayak into the truck bed, lift tail and close the rear tailgate, lift kayak and set rooftop pads gray pads ontop of tailgate and strap front down in bed and another across at rear of bed.
This angle clears the camper by 6" or so, allows the camper to be hooked and towed. Have gone hundreds of miles like this. I do have a 6' bed and carry 12-13' kayaks
