Post by txdiamond17 »

we are going to san angelo this weekend to break in our new camper, where should we stay to have the best fishing/kayak access?

We usually stay at the San Angelo State Park on O. C. Fisher reservoir. The lake is extremely low but you should be able to get a kayak in O. K. The lake should pick up some run-off with all the rains the last couple of days. The park is handy for new campers because you can be back in town in just a few minutes in case you need something  . We are planning on being there April 4th through the 8th.

Good Luck,

Thanks hornsfan. We were thinking there or one on Nasworthy. Guess we'll see in the morning since I forgot to call and get reservations. Surely we can find a place somewhere.

Spring Creek Marina is a good camping spot on the south end of Nasworthy. Is in a no wake zone. Have not had any luck fishing that area tho. From there you can head into the main lake body, and the jet ski's and big boats. But it is a nice campground with good access.

Well we just ended up going to San Angelo SP. Didn't even get the yaks out. Just enjoyed our new camper. The wind was up and the lake was waayy low, didn't know how the fishing was, so we just enjoyed the beautiful day around the park. Maybe next time we'll find some fish.
