New Law ?

Post by sureshot56 »

Saw in the San Angelo paper that their is a group trying to get a bill passed that outlaws guns and bows in boats, except for shotguns. This article was specific about the commisioners court in San Angelo as the group is trying to get counties with rivers in them on board and have the support of county commisioners. Reasoning given was to prohibit poaching and prevent tresspassing. Saw this a couple of days ago and don't remember the bill #, and don't know the status of it. Anyone else heard of it?

Another article in todays paper. Commisioners voted not to participate in the ban. The bill is HB3844 and appears to be Tom Green County only, for now

The ban on bows in boats isn't well thought out. A compound bow has a limited range. More so for a traditional bow.

sounds like (on the poaching side) maby poachers are heading up -down river /lakes and getting out onto the bank tresspassing walking in hunting or maby hunting on the rivers edge?? --- (good luck) like that will stop a poacher ! -- I can show ya properties in south Tx, that the river is almost the only way to get to your hunting places . been there & done it . NOT THE POACHING PART ! :D

It needs to stay the same, if you get out of your boat on private property without cinsent then it is TRESSPASSING!!!
just cause you limit it to shotguns does not mean they won't come onto their land, out worse ones are bird hunters at my folks place.

What ever happened to the Texas River Hunters Association? Closest thing to legal poaching I ever heard of.
