Hey, YakAttack!

Got a question for you! My wife and I are planning on attending a fish fry at the VFW building in Roanoke. Do you know where it is? I will probably go up I35 through Fort Worth. Where to from there?

Yeah, I do. I looked up the address & ph# are...

705 North Oak Street
817/491-9081

Coming up 35 through FW, head East at 114.
Go through the light at highway 377.
Just after that light, get on the access road and head up the hill.
Go straight through the stop sign at the top of the hill.
At the next stop sign (Bus 114 - Byron Nelson pkwy), take a right.
Go the the next light, which is Oak Street and take a right.
The VFW hall is on your left about 100 yards or so down.

There are easier ways to get there, but this one is the easiest to explain.

When is your fish fry???

Thanks a bunch for the information! I do appreciate it! I now have your directions copied down and I will take them with me!
The fish fry is on the 29th of this month. I guess you could say it's sort of a "benefit" fish fry for an old friend who is presently undergoing some heavy-duty battles with cancer and chemo treatments. He and I have been virtually life-long friends and we both are retired from General Motors. There are supposed to be a bunch of folks from GM there. I'm looking forward to seeing some people Iused to work with and haven't seen in about seven years.
Thanks again for your help!

No problem Deral.

No problem Deral.

:D

I'm sorry to hear about your friend, and hope he's doing well. I would love to meet you on the 29th since you're in the area, but I have a friend up from Houston that weekend, so it'll be tough at best - he's chasing a skirt up here so my choices are to sabotage or not to sabotage....

Are ya'll raising money to help with your friend's treatments?

Hey, ifeliciano!
Is it my fault I'm getting old and senile? Just kidding! I'm really not senile! Just old! Did you ever make it to Lloyd Park this week? I'm thinking about making a quick trip out there this afternoon just to see if I still remember how to drown a worm!
YakAttack, thanks again for the information. I will likewise PM you with my numbers. I would be tickled to meet you for a fishin' trip!
I teach class four nights a week, Monday through Thursday, but I don't have a Friday class. So I can go any Friday or weekend. Any time at your convenience!
The fish fry is sort of a "fund raising" benefit with all proceeds going to help defray costs. The total won't be much, but every little bit helps!

Mornin' YakAttack!
Had no trouble at all finding the VFW building as per your directions! Thanks a bunch!
The fish fry was a huge success! Somewhere around 100-150 folks showed up! A really nice reunion!
There was enough food left over to feed another 100 people. I think they were planning on taking what was left over to a local nursing home.
Thanks again for your help!
