Inshore rod recommendation for throwing soft plastics
Looking to pair a Citica 100DSV with a good rod for throwing soft plastics. Also, looking for length recommendations 6'6, 7'0, etc.... Trying to keep it under $120. Thanks in advance.

I used to love the old all star shrimptail specials. theyre like $60, 7 ft, and real good action for plastics. Only problem is I hear their quality has gone down since shakespeare bought them. My favorite plastics rod right now is an AR ultrawader. 6'2'' ultralight and great for plastics. It runs about $200 though.

Try 7' Falcon rod. I have used several kinds but this one really impressed me. One has lasted me for last 7 years and still going, both salt & fresh water.Cracker Yak wrote:Looking to pair a Citica 100DSV with a good rod for throwing soft plastics. I just picked up two new rods today....whoo hoo!!!
Got me a 6'10" Falcon Lowrider for my spinning reels, and found a pretty darn good deal on a baitcaster rod.
For anyone looking, Bass Pro has last year's "Elite Series" rods on clearence from $189 down to $119. Got a 6 1/2 foot MH with those cool titanium "recoil" guides.
Now if I could just get away from work long enough to use them......

I 2nd this recommendation. The guy's name is Charlie. Builds a heck of a custom rod. He doesn't do the fancy wraps and all that stuff, he builds a solid saltwater rod for the coastal fisherman. They are every bit of quality and workmanship as the Lagunas/Waterloos of the world, IMO.silent speck wrote:there is a guy that makes custom rods at AARCSupply.com
Give him a call.
