Aransas Pass Duck Hunting

Post by ~BUCKSHOT~ »

Met up with Jason Brou this weekend for some duck hunting. Hunted Sat. evening and we killed a 3 man Rockport limit! Hunted Sun. morning and we could only get 4 redheads. Had a great time and look forward to next time.

We're heading down there this weekend. Glad to see there are some birds down that way. Can anyone tell me if there is enough water in the light house lakes area to float some yaks? I'm playing guide this time. Taking 5 guys and I havn't hunted down there yet this year. Thanks!!!

As of last weekend there was enough water to float a kayak without anyone in it! When we came back to Crab Man's, we had about a 2 foot drop out of the flats to the cut, maybe 2 inches of water on the flats!

2 inches of water is perfect duck depth for puddlers!

Yes it is, but not good if you have to drag a kayak!
