HOW LONG CAN A FISH STAY ON ICE? help!

Ok so i have a huge black drum in the ice chest ...No i didnt have time to do the right thing so its UNTouched on ice..the outside of the fish is looking pretty dang slimey....do yall think its still ok to clean this fish or did i just do what i swore never to do and waste a fish? please help i want to clean it asap if its SAFE?

How long on ice 2days max.

3 days on ice if water is drained off the ice. 5 days if gutted and not under ice.

Why in God's name would you even want to clean that nasty thing to begin with. Hope ya like worms!
