TKF San Antonio meet - March 21
TKF San Antonio meet - March 21
Where: South Texas Tackle 12151 Jones Maltsburger #119 Right across the street from Blossom Athletic Center.
When: Wednesday, March 21st, 7:00 PM
Who: Everyone is welcome, whether you have a kayak or are just interested in one, fish fresh or saltwater, live in SA, Austin, or even El Paso.
Ruben of STT will provide water and sodas. If you want to bring an adult beverage, that's cool. I will pick up pizza from Big Lou's and ask that everyone chip in $5 or so for it. One of the members is bringing his kayak with the new lights for us to look at, and if you would like to bring yours for a little show and tell, that would be awesome. Several of us have gotten together for the last two months and had a great time. Ruben is offering us a 10% discount on merchandise the night of the meeting.
Please reply here to let me know if you're coming and what you like on your pizza.
Hope to see you there!

I'll be there; I'm just up the road a piece. I'd like to get info on yak fishing spots around here: Braunig, Canyon, and such.
I'll kick in $10 if you want to get a 'supreme' type, or just something with pepperoni, mushrooms and anything else.
Thanks for taking the initiative on this; it'll be nice to get back on the water....or at least plan for it!

Re: TKF San Antonio meet - March 21
Unless something blows up, I will be there.
I just put a trolling motor mount on my kayak, but probably won't pull it over. I will be coming from Converse, so I don't want to fight the evening traffic coming over there.
I'm going to try and get a few pictures of the mount posted in a little while.
Planning on getting back in the water very soon, so I would love to share some spots/stories with others.
Hope to see a lot of people there.

It looks like 14 'confirmed' on these boards; not a bad sized group. Perhaps not all those will show, but maybe others will tag along that haven't responded on this site.
I look forward to meeting fellow yak fishermen especially in my area (familiar with the river and Canyon Lake) or those looking for another person when they want to make a run to the coast on short notice. Since I'm self-employed I'm usually game for that, for half the price of cabin/gas/food.
Thanks for putting this together!

That was a great meet-up! I learned a great deal from Shadow Fox about Canyon Lake, and so much more. Thanks, gentlemen, for sharing your considerable knowledge of the sport and quarry, fresh and salt.
Very nifty LED lights, too, that South Texas Tackle is selling. Quite a bit brighter than Wildcat.
Great pizza and great fellowship. Thanks, David (halffast), for making it happen.

Oh...and I think there were 16 or 17 in attendance there by the end.
Only 14 said they'd show...so you got 121% attendance!

Lots of great new acqaintances; it was a great meeting.
Thanks to Shadow Fox for all the info on Canyon Lake, too; I hope to start making use of it soon -- and hope to see some of you out there sooner or later.
Jim, that 40 foot sailboat mother-ship idea sounds excellent, too!
