Wilderness Systems Kayak Fishing - Fayette Lake

Post by kayakbassTX »

Let's just say this spring hasn't been what I was hoping for. Well that all changed on this trip. I went to Fayette with the forecast winds 5mph which I've never been on Fayette with winds that low. As most TX forecast the wind was blowing harder and the waves where rolling. The good is that the cove I fished not only was holding good fish at least for me it was also blocking the wind for the most part. As I paddled in I had a bass boat to my left looking like he was going to continue left so I was going to go right. He decided he would cut me off and go right. Ok no big deal I'll just fish were he was and see what happens. After about the 3rd cast BAM!!!! 19" LMB.  As I moved to the right and I continued to catch fish. (behind the bass boat) I fished for about 3hrs and had to head on home. I ended up with about 9 LMB with the smallest one being 16". As I was driving home I realized I didn't take but one picture with the camera of a fish on the measuring stick. Lost those kayakwars points!!!  I did manage to get most catches on video. Enjoy!!!

Now that you mentioned it about the KW points, I did not realize it on the video. Great video, you just have to go back and get those points back......  . At least you get to go out on the yak. I just got my a Commander 140 and have not had the chance to use it yet.

...there is a way to capture stills from a video and convert them to jpeg, I know I've done it on our Mac with the apple software. Not sure what platform you are using...just saying, cause we could sure use the points...

No worries though, and Great Job!

I have been looking to demo one (hopefully purchase if I like) and can't find anybody in Corpus area that can help me out...maybe I can drive up and slime yours? ...in all honesty, I may have to make a trip up to Htown just for that.

Anytime Travis. Just let me know when you want to use it when you come up this way. Just a heads up that I will be heading to AP in Sept. with the PACK group. Hope to be able to fish with you guys so we can score some KW points.
