Chandeleur Island Trip - Rescheduled (May 12,13,14 & 15)

Post by Kingwood Kayaker »

I talked with Troy today and confirmed that May 12-15 is open. He has rescheduled our trip and has reserved the weekend for us.

The tides look awesome for these dates too! :D :D

Here's Troy's request. If you were scheduled on the trip blown-out by Hurricane Ivan, please respond to this thread confirming your attendance.

We need to get an accurate head-count to make sure the trip is fully booked.

Currently Confirmed:

1 ) Kingwood Kayaker - Phil
2 ) Kingwood Kayaker's Dad - Wes
3 ) Kayak Kid - Buzz
4 ) Animal Chris - Chris
5 ) Parrothead - Norm [Back fill for Hoosierplug]
6 ) Cajun Caster [Taking TKFClay's Spot]
7 ) Chaz [Taking TKFClay's Dad's Sport]
8 )
9 )
10 )
11 )
12 )

This will be the master list. I'll keep editing this post as the master list is updated.

Those dates don't work for me so I'm going to have to bow out.

BigB, if you're interested in buying in, let me know. I've got a $100 deposit that Troy's holding.

Please put me down for two heads if space is available. It sounds like there are folks with a chance to make up a cancelled trip so I guess this is a waiting list. If there is only one slot, I would still like to go.

Hmmm, I just realized that my wife will be 9 months pregnant the end of May. I don't know how this escaped me earlier. I'm thinking a trip in May may be out for me.

Hey Phil

Hey Phil, if I was at the top of the list, I'll take Hoosierplugger's spot. If you're gonna be at the meeting tonite I will talk to ya about it.

Clay - 9 mos pregnant in May? If your wife lets you do it, she should get a nobel prize. When my son was born in August, the only fishing I did was 10 minutes from the house!

I'll need to talk to my dad to see what he wants to do. The reality is that I will not be going on a trip any time next year. So, I may have two spots up for grabs.

Hey Ron,

Do you know if the folks that were going with you are still available? If so, how many?

Ok, I have two spots available. One is a fully pre-paid spot and the other is just the deposit has been made. If you are interested in one or both, send me a PM.

I'm willing to let the pre-paid trip go for a discount of $50. So you can get the trip for just $400. This is a great deal!

What's going go????

Post by RIPTIDE »

For those of us who are just curious or may want to go if there is an opening at the last minuet, just what does the trip consist of and what does it cost? If this group has a real good time there may be others that would like to set up such a trip It would be nice to know who to book with also. I spent 4 days on one of the house boat operations out of Venice, LA a few years ago and even I could catch fish over there

This is the fourth or fifth trip we've done with Capt. Troy and the Double Trouble. Informaiton can be found on their website at http://chandeleurcharters.com. A full trip runs $475 a person. The boat leaves Monday morning (12:01 am) and returns Wednesday evening OR the boat leaves Friday morning (12:01 am) and returns Sunday evening.

For those of you who want to go, but can't get in on this one I'll be scheduling at least a couple of group trips for next year. I just went last weekend and had an excellent trip. Troy will be at the boat show in Houston the first part of January. I might just see about reserving a couple of trips for TKF and then post the chosen dates. What do y'all think about that?

The couples trip will be a completely seperate deal. I just talked to Troy earlier tonight and we were thinking of getting five couples for that one. That would leave two bunks for the luggage.
