The jeep guys are planning an outing. How many of you will be available to pull them out when they get stuck?

Chevy....(sinks) Like a rock

I just got rid of my '95 two door tahoe 5pd manual 4x4. I sure miss that thing but needed something more reliable. :( (270k miles)

Haha actually it does but only on c16 race fuel and that crap is pricey so she gets trailers to the parks plus those 38s are no fun on the freeway

Nice truck 90! When it comes to classics like that i have a soft spot for all of them. My wife's dream truck is an '87 swb single cab chevy 4x4.

I talk tough about my toyota but to be honest, it is a mall crawler and even the beaches I see are typically 2wd friendly.

Truth is I like jeeps just fine, but my brother has one so I have come accustomed to ragging on him/them.

A lot of my buddies have jeep body's with Chevy power trains and axles cause jeep stuff is good for light stuff and mall crawling but these guys are hard core rock crawlers.
Thanks cogswell when I got that truck she was plain Jain no lift weak wore out 318 bought the tires for 500 and had the motor out of my Dakota that hadnt seen action in a year or so. I actually traded a dirt bike for the truck

^What he said. The Rubicon's axles are about as light duty as you can run on the rocks but you'll still be braking shafts often especially with a v8 swap.

Toyota's are great and I used to rag on Jeeps all the time till I went on my first rockcrawling trip. Jeeps are a great platform. Most guys will drop a 350 or an LS motor in them, upgrade the axles to one tons with lockers and there ready to wheel. Either way you look at it, when you go to these events, it's almost all Jeep, Toyota and custom buggies. (Many of which are built off a toyota or Jeep frame if not 100% bent tube.)

Now the drivers are a different story. Exluding the serious wheelers I just spoke of, your typical Jeep MallCrawler owner knows not what his vehicle is actually capable of nor does he car as long as it looks cool.

Agreed.

I've owned Grand Cherokees, H2 and H3, Tahoe and 4 runner. The overall build quality of my Cruiser far surpasses all of the above. I love the tank.

The only SUV I'd trade it for is a unimog.
