Very nice but really $2400, just by adding a peddle I don't understand, ill stick to my Cuda.

That's awesome rig right there, I would leave the front hatch cover off so that the drive could role forward into that area and not stick up as high and be in the way, other than that I don't see anything wrong with it

You break the prowl housing, pretty much have to replace the whole drive.

Most of the parts are internal. The slayer looks like a better kayak to paddle then the Mariner.

It is 14" shorter and 3" wider than the Slayer 14
Why didn't they just use the Slayer 14 hull?
Wouldn't that have been faster?

I've used a 14 ft. ultimate peddle for several years. Although I have enjoyed it's many advantages (for me), I always claimed it to be a work in progress. It has lots of little idiocyncracies like, no skuppers, difficulty in washing down interior, awkward and sometimes difficult assembly of drive system, and the non rigidity of the hull. The new boat looks to be more like a finished product.

Pros:
'Mature' kayakers, such as myself, will appreciate the ease of peddeling as apposed to paddling. Using the larger muscles of the thorax (also used in correctly performed paddling), combined with the thigh muscles, gives a much more comfortable and less tiring method of propelling your yak. Windward peddeling really shows the difference.

Cons:
The weight! It's probaby going to take the use of a trailor to get the full benefit from the new boat.

So, Years later and almost 7, I have that slayer. I received my 2022 Slayer Max 12.5 (the newer version) early April, so another member has rejoined the plastic navy .
