fishin this little online trout tournament so i headed to one my wintertime trout holes. i knew it was a bit early still before this place turns on but this tourney gave me a reason to go check it out. first fish was 18.5" speck victim to a spook..
this was encouraging since in winter this place yields nothing but solid trout, usually its ran by redfish but in the winter the reds move out and the trout move in. so i thought cool, its time! unfortunately, this would be the biggest trout of the day and i was soon into some slot reds..
although fun and tasty, not what i was hoping for. anyway, filled the stringer for an upcoming fry. probably need another good northern or two before my spot really gets hot! its close but not quite yet..
not quite yet..
