WOW! San Marcos is up and flowing strong with this much needed rain. Fished Thursday a week ago with he flow around 600. Cotton seed and broken bone Rapids were a blast! First time since I've been paddling that rap rock was completely submerged. For my skill, I think I will have a personal cut off at 600-650cfs. Couldn't fish very efficiently at that flow. Great paddle though! My normal route can take me up to 8 hours to fish. I blew though in 3 hours easily. Somehow I wish some of this flow could be put into the highland lakes.

I kayaked from 1st Xing to Gruene on the Guadalupe on 5/14. Took a pole with me but was really just "guiding" some friends/first timers. I was a blast at 350 cfs and a typical 6 hour trip (at my fishing speed) was less than 2 hours. I bet 600 cfs is fun on the SM!

Looks like the Blanco is about to seriously flood. The upper Guadalupe is seriously flooding. Canyon Lake is going to get quite full. The San Marcos is going to get very high.
Fishing will be tough for awhile with this flooding.

Me and 2 buddies actuall did the Martindale to Staples float yesterday afternoon at 950 cfs. Was a ton of fun, we did it in 2 hours with a 35 minute stop to dodge some lightning. Wish there was a webcam in staples I could watch all day.

No sir, I just pulled this picture from Facebook. The people along river road on the other side of the river were sweeping water out of their houses. The river was still in their back yard though. Staples bridge has appox. 5' of water in the houses near the river.

Looks like the Comal in New B peaked at 1800 cfs. The Guadalupe at New B peaked at 2000 cfs. The San Marcos at SM reached 800 cfs, the Blanco at Wimberley reached 6800 cfs (!), and the San Marcos river in Luling was near 80,000 cfs (that's not a typo). Holy hell.

Canyon Lake has come up about 26'! That's awesome but they're gonna leave the outflow at Canyon open awhile (up to 5000 cfs even; it's 15' higher than ideal)). That's going to hurt the tubing business for a little bit but eventually it'll clear up and open up new areas for Guadalupe Bass that haven't been used in awhile.
