They are building my boat. new photo
Just got the first photos of my build, an Ankona Shadowcast 16. They said the hull is about to come out the mold.
Should be ready by middle to end of March.

Re: They are building my boat.
Congrats. Are you getting out of kayaking?
Re: They are building my boat.
I'll still fish some from kayak. In fact Village Creek is looking good.
This skiff may float in 3" with just me.

Those are great boats. I look forward to seeing the progress pics as you get them.

Re: They are building my boat.
That's awesome, I'm excited for ya!
Re: They are building my boat.
Which motor? I have seen quite a few skiffs with the Tohatsu four stroke with a pull cord.
Re: They are building my boat.
It will have a Tohatsu 20hp with tiller steer and pull start. Grab bar wilth cooler caddy. Passenger seat will be a 35qt Yeti with Estrada Art cushion and wrap. I want low maintenance and no starting battery. I will have a 55# trolling motor with quick release plate. One 12v battery in the bow and they will run power to switches in the back for running lights and bilge pump.
The fun part will be the poling platform and push pole.
Should be ready for pickup by March 12. Looks like me and the wife will be heading east for string break.

Re: They are building my boat.
On my skiff, the rear poling platform is in the way. Real pain to reach over the platform to shift gears. Also limits the range of steering. In my case, the platform is coming off.
These problems might be due to the narrow stern width so yours will be different. I would hate to pull start under the poling platform, almost a necessity on my skiff.
Bought my boat used, did not have a trolling motor but was wired for one. It now has a Minn Kota 55# with a remote steering option called Co Pilot. In less than a year, this trolling motor has been in the shop twice, due to the co pilot.

Re: They are building my boat.
Tombo, I remember reading about your poling platform on another thread. On the Gladesman the platform did seem to be forward of the engine and low. From the pic below it looks like the engine controls and start cord will be easily accessible. Raising the engine may require reaching over.
I am planning to fish some without taking the trolling motor and maybe no battery for some really shallow fishing. That may require two people. I'll up some way to pole around from the front with a short pole of some kind. I like rigging.

Very cool, and congrats. Looks like a very nice fishing platform. You and John should have a good time with it. Let me know when you have an open spot.
Re: They are building my boat.
Making a trip to Florida during Spring Break and will pick up my new boat on the way back. Got a new photo today of the crew installing the bulkheads.
The boats sure look rough before finishing.

Lovin it!
Re: They are building my boat. new photo
She is about ready for pick up. A few final touches and a bath. Might kayak with the manatees a day or two before I get her and head home.

Re: They are building my boat. new photo
Looks good! Where are they located at?
Re: They are building my boat. new photo
Ankona Boats located in Fort Pierce, FL. Near Mosquito Lagoon.
On the way I hope paddle in one of those super gin clear rivers that come from limestone springs.
May stay a night or two around Naples (airboat ride in the Everglades) and then over toward Fort Pierce. I will be driving near a lot fine fishing places on this trip.
This will be the passenger seat and it fits in front of the grab bar that has a small padded back rest.
