Post by jdawgsworld »

Newbie here...I'm thinking a trinity river float might be fun...put in South of Livingston and take out around I-10...any issues? Permits?

No permits, just be careful of the train trestle bridge in Liberty. The water has been high

While I have not paddle that part of the Trinity, in my opinion there are nicer places to float and camp in the area. There is a good stretch of the Neches and there is also Village Creek. Both are serviced by EastTex Canoes. They can run your shuttle. There are great sandbars for camping on each providing the water is not to high. Below is a trip I made down the lower Neches in 2017.
