Flounder still moving
Flounder still moving
So tried my hand at flounder to see if some were still running. Did ok with a few. Not crazy busy but a few flounder still coming through the channels.
With the season opening again next week hope they are still around. This season seems like a slow steady run. Not crazy but steady for the upper coast HSC.

Here’s a recap of the trip

Re: Flounder still moving
At Arroyo last weekend, kids were fishing off the dock and bulkhead at Dos Rios lodge, across from us.
Catching fish and hooting day and night.
One kid set up at the lower end of their bulkhead and fished the wild bank - he was hauling in flounder after flouncer.
Of course releasing them all - the Texas flounder fishery is still closed through Dec 14

I'm not near the water today, but I can see Schroeder running to Charlie Brown, waving his arms,
"Flounder is open! flounder is open!!!"
"Flounder is open! flounder is open!!!"

Re: Flounder still moving
it amazes me how many ppl ive spoke to this year that when i mention something about flounder or let a kid have a flounder hich i really only do if i dont see them having any luck or if i didnt get ice for some reason which ive only given out 2 fish ever i know i need a document from tpwd but com on it was both to kids around 10. but anyways haha like i was saying it amazes me how many ppl have said back to me is it legal? its over12 INCHES right? i say oh ya its a keeper in lousiana for sure but were in texas and has to be over 15" anyone else ever ccome across ay ppl who think that or is it just me? and even some of my friends that dont fish much think its 12" and im not sure wether they ever bought licenses or not just thought id share that since ive got nothing to do and im going crazy quarantined with my wife n 3 daughters 15, 11, and 6... too much estrogen in this house n not enough fishing. since start of pandemic when i got laid off in 2019 i decided id never work for a companyt again n started up some lil business fixing literally anything n everything but since then up until october of 2021 i have kayak fished 3-4 days every week and i think im going thru withdrawals, sorry for long post about random n no punctuation lmao 2nd time with covid at home now, not like first time i think this is delta one this time ugh
Re: Flounder still moving
Close proximity for extended periods to too much estrogen is dangerous and toxic for a xy.
Suprised to not be seeing any flounder reports. I was set to go last week, but a head cold and other BS took me out. Maybe I’ll get a trip in this week.

Karst - apparently, estrogen is also kryptonite to punctuation, spelling and grammar. Who knew?

My compliments to anyone who stuck with that post.

Catching them now in back bays. Ned rigs with plastics. Usually keep one fish over 17” and release anything else. Feeds two people easily.
