The days have been nice so I decided to take the kayak out. I landed one 19" speck on a corky but it came with some drama. I turtled while reaching for my net that drifted away from me; fighting a fish and reaching is a bad mistake. My first and I've been kayaking along time but I'm glad I got that out the way.
I had to do a lot of paddling due to that the tide was out and water was clear but I found the bait holding in a pocket with deep water. I am certain that I would have caught more fish but my splashing scared the fish away. Also, water was in my waders and got cold really quick with the wind.
Overall, it was a great day. FYI, they are repaving the roads and some of the ramps are closed.

glad you're all right.
Hypothermia is a real threat this time of year.

Dad gum, be careful out there. Water around here right now is pretty chilly, glad you were able to get out of that water and get back to the launch. Not everything goes according to the plan, this I do know.
