Where to get kayak rigging done now ?

Post by Sparky44 »

Howdy

Was hoping to get some ideas on where to get some LED strips mounted and wired up in the Houston area ?

Had them done once before when AKC was still around

FTU should be able to help yo out. Not sure if any one of their locations is better than the other when it comes to rigging.

If you strike out with FTU and are on FB try posting on the Texas Kayak FB page or there might be a similar page for Houston area. I'm sure there are well qualified guys in your area that can help.

Up in Austin, with ACK going out of business, we don't really have options. DIY rigging. I'm about to tighten/adjust all my rudder/steering cables on my Hobie Outback. Never been good at it and hard to get it correct and aligned tight and straight, but no options but to do it myself.

Really sucks about ACK. "The House" or whatever it is that took over their on-line site is just a crappy site and products. What a shame. I think all t hey did was just by the name and rights of ACK in order to get people to click and drive traffic to their site.

There's a few guys on 2coolfishing.com that do boat modifications, some specializing in lighting. Some with shops, others who freelance. A few of them are site sponsors.

Kayaks are boats, after all.
