Getting those BTB muscles primed

Post by Prof. Salt »

Most of y'all know I enjoy paddling ( that might be an understatement). I have been borrowing a real rocket-ship of a kayak from a friend for a while now and although it took me a while to feel this way, it finally feels like I can make this boat do whatever I want on the water. The Viking Oxygen is a surf-ski and makes a fantastic exercise platform. It also makes my Stealth kayaks feel slow. The Oxygen is rotomolded so it doesn't require the delicate handling that fiberglass boats do, and I typically take it out after work to paddle in the sloppy bay conditions for a couple of reasons: It allows me to get high speeds (10 to 15mph depending on the swell and wind), it allows me to gently work my core and stay in shape, and it constantly keeps me ready for BTB if the weather ever allows for it. It sure feels like a win-win to me.
