Bait might become an option

Post by GoDoe »

Yuck!
The wind and the water are awful around Aransas Pass.
It's the windiest June I have ever seen and the water is so dirty and full of dead and live grass.
If there are fish out there I can't find them.
I've fished 6 day of the last 7 days and gotten skunked 2 of those days. That just never happens in June.

Fishing has been tough for everyone, not just flyfishers! I went out in my skiff Thursday, and caught two short flounder, a short Speck, a hardhead and finally, one barely keeper Speck. I used all kinds of artificials, plus some really nice live shrimp. My neighbors have been going out and doing poorly. One boat caught six keeper Reds in East Flats. Other than them, it's windy and bleak. The cleaning stations aren't full of guides, even. The grass, which was about gone in the winter, has come back thick! Maybe the wind will lay some, so we can start catching again. TexasJim

The wind died down last weekend and we found fish tailing everywhere.
The previous months have been insane with constant 25 +MPH winds.
