It's driving me crazy, but at least I can use the wind to keep kayak handling skills sharp. Water temps are mostly comfortable, and the winds keep blowing and offering a challenge in the bay. A new Stealth is rigged and ready except for electronics (don't need them in the Corpus/Port A area) but yesterday I paddled the most challenging kayak from the stable, the Viking Oxygen 570. Yeah it's tippy but boy does it accelerate on the waves! Winds were 19 sustained with gusts to 30, so it was great "build your skills" weather. Just keep in mind that wherever you go, you will need enough in the tank to fight back to the launch. Plan you trip accordingly.

I get the feeling your skills are quite adequate and don't need further building.

There are always the shark and Cobia encounters that can test your balance, and the surf often waits until you stop paying attention to spring a surprise. Best to be as prepared as possible!
