Good morning fellow kayakers!
Anyone planning to go BTB fishing at corpus this weekend?
I’m game if anyone is going!

Me and my brothers are planning to hit the bob hall standpipe on Saturday. If you see 3 pro anglers it’s us.

Slow day caught 2 kings between the 3 of us. 1 on live blue runner at the standpipe and 1 right off the beach trolling a yo-zuri crystal minnow. Drove through a thunderstorm, water conditions were perfect, ocean was flat with very minimal boat traffic. Probably due to the storm the night before and the rain that hit us when we got back to the beach at 1pm lol.

Thanks for the update!

We went to matagorda at the first rig five miles down the beach. Also a slow day. Water was very calm but got a bit rough on the way in around 1pm with moderate winds. Surf was flat. Two kayaks fishermen. Nothing on spoons or yo zuris or any other artificials. Ribbon caught an 6-7ft blacktip that dragged me another mile out for 45 mins. Once I got a look at him to guess size, I tighten the drag and he broke the line. He was more than half a hobie compass. I’m sure those guys surf fishing for sharks would have loved him. A few boats came by to rig but only caught a hardhead. No bait activity at the rig. Tons of bait and jellyfish along the surf.
